Orin Rutchick Founder, Director of Membership & Education
Orin is a graduate of Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has 35 years of experience as a photographer, designer and art director. He was the recipient of a 2006 McKnight Photographic Fellowship. Orin founded the Mpls Photo Coop in 2007 and the Mpls Photo Center in 2008 with its member centric vision to be a place to meet and socialize, learn and grow, and create and exhibit.
Doug Beasley Instructor
Doug is a published author and also shoots various fine art based commercial assignments throughout the country and internationally. He has had numerous photography projects have been funded by McKnight Photography Fellowships, State Arts Board and Jerome Foundation artists' grants.
Martin Berglin Lighting & Product Photography Instructor
With 27 years experience as a professional photographer, Martin has photographed for several Fortune 100 companies. His work has been featured in national print, broadcast and web campaigns, exhibited in art galleries, and been used to drive fund-raising for humanitarian missions.
Steve Bye Adobe Certified Instructor
Steve Bye is an Adobe Certified Instructor of Photoshop. He has used it extensively since the release of version 4, over ten years ago. His strength as a teacher is in explaining difficult concepts in easily understandable terms, a skill learned while at Hewlett-Packard as a trainer, engineer, and manager.
Kyle Camerer Fashion & Lighting Instructor
Kyle Camerer is a commercial and editorial photographer most known for his dynamic style. He goes into each shoot with an open mind and will not settle until he has achieved what he's have set out to do. He teaches lighting and fashion photography classes at the Mpls Photo Center.
Lacey Prpic Hedtke Alternative Process Instructor
Lacey has a BFA in Photography from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, where she found her place in the history of photography, squarely in the 19th century. She writes and reviews for Art Review and Preview! Newspaper, l'etoile Magazine, Library Journal, LIBREAS Library Ideas, and Art Libraries Society of North America Reviews.
Ran Shapira Film & Darkroom Instructor
Ran has worked on art projects for the National Portrait Gallery in London, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and Stux Gallery in New York City. In May 2009, he organized a national conference called History of Photography - Where is the Future? Cinema, Journalism, Fine Art at the City University of New York, where Shapira is now completing his second master's degree in history of photography.
