Beginning/Refresher Film Developing Class


Class Description

Would you like to learn how to develop your own film? Beginning/Refresher Film Developing workshop is designed for newcomers to Black & White film  photography who wish to learn basic Black & white darkroom techniques, including black & white film development and making contact sheets for printing with an enlarger.

This Beginning/Refresher Film Developing course has been developed for those learning Black & White film photography for the first time and many who’ve done it in past, whether high school or college, and those seeking a refresher course in Black & white darkroom techniques including film development and making contact sheets from the film’s negatives. Previous darkroom experience is not necessary, and a basic understanding of exposure, although useful, is not essential.

Class Requirements

For the class session bring along exposed B&W film of your own to process, whether 35mm or120 format. You’ll learn to process and make contact prints from your developed film and get to take home all your contact sheets, a requirement for our next course on and when ready, you’ll be prepared to take our next session and learn to print with an optical enlarger. We supply all chemicals. You just need to bring your exposed film.
