From Still to Motion with Your DSLR

Class Description

With the arrival of high-definition video-enabled DSLR cameras, photographers have an opportunity for creativity and a competitive edge in their field unlike anything they’ve experienced before. Add to that the expanding demands from a video-hungry audience and it’s no longer a matter of if you are going to add video to your repertoire of skills, it’s when.

In this two-day course we will learn basic digital DSLR video capture techniques. We will examine camera operation and lens choices. We will explore the fundamentals of basic film making theory and examine the broad range of motion picture composition and production strategies. After learning the foundation of film making, students will shoot their own DSLR video in the intervening week.

Our second day of class starts in the editing suite where we’ll explore the dynamic range of possibilities of I-MOVIE and Final Cut Express.

You will learn the skills to craft your footage into a unique, expressive and compelling digital DSLR video that conveys your personal vision. When complete, you will have the knowledge to shoot and edit digital DSLR videos for personal, fine art and commercial client applications.

This class is limited to eight students.
