Beginning Digital Printmaking
Class Description
With so many ways to share our images digitally, it’s easy to let our images slip into “digital purgatory.” Meanwhile, affordable digital printers have improved by leaps and bounds in recent years.Harness the power of your printer and learn to make beautiful fine-art inkjet prints on our Epson 800 printer.We provide an overview of what makes a good photographic print and, teaches you the fundamentals of color management and printing workflow. With class discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in The Mpls Photo Center’s state-of-the-art digital lab, we will guide you towards creating color and black & white photographic prints that display accurate tonality and color as part of an integrated color managed workflow.
Realize your photographic vision with the know-how and confidence to produce beautiful photographic prints. You leave this one-day intensive workshop with the ability to consistently create prints that match what you envisioned when you clicked the shutter.

Class Requirements
We use Apple iMac computers, Adobe software and Epson 800 printers. A working knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom, or Photoshop Elements is recommended.
This is a printing class and very limited software training is part of the workshop.

About the Instructor
Jeff Harrington:
Jeff is the Executive Director at the Mpls Photo Center. He worked as a professional photographer early in his career before evolving into film-making and video production. He has worked in advertising and digital media as an executive producer and director. Jeff has been an exhibiting artist these past 30 years in both group exhibitions and one man shows. His emphasis these last few years has been on color "street photography." Jeff enjoys teaching others, and sharing his approach to urban and street photography with his students and MPC Members. Jeff has degrees from SCSU in art, journalism, and marketing.
