Fresh From the Garden to the Studio
Class Description"From The Garden to Studio" is a new and intriguing day long workshop that combines Farmer's Market shopping and fresh from the garden food photography. Scott Knutson, an expert food photographer, takes you on a bountiful journey exploring the subjects readily available from the good earth. Our day begins at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market where we select our fruits, vegetables, nuts and flowers to photograph back at the Mpls Photo Center’s studios. Upon our return to Mpls Photo Center we explore “The Still Life.” In a more controlled atmosphere, we photograph the treasures of the earth and, using available and artificial light of the studio, learn basic lighting techniques. Scott explains the art of food styling by presenting examples his commercial photographs, along demonstrations and hands on in-studio application of what has been learned. The aim here is to enjoy the smells and textures of these fresh from the earth photo subjects and learn the best techniques to capture their natural beauty in a photograph. Throughout the Saturday workshop Scott looks at work and reviews the images produced by participants, individually and as a group. Join us in the exceptional photo workshop and cornucopia of the good earth. The Mpls Photo Center provides a continental breakfast and buffet lunch for your enjoyment.
