Mpls Photo Center Staff
The Staff of the Mpls Photo Center is here to serve the needs of our members and the greater photographic community. We welcome the opportunity to arrange tours of the Center's facilities and exhibits and answer any question you might have about membership, education, talks, exhibits, lectures and events.
Founder, Director of Membership & Education
Orin is a graduate of Minneapolis College of Art & Design and has 40 years of experience as a photographer, graphic designer and art director. He is a 2006 recipient of the McKnight Photographic Fellowship Award. Orin founded the Mpls Photo Center along with his wife Abby in September of 2008 with a vision to be the place, for photographers to meet, socialize, learn, grow, create and exhibit.
Co-Founder, Member Relationship & Operations
Abby comes to the Mpls Photo Center with a strong background in business. She works with Center members to ensure that they have a smooth and rewarding experience at the Center. Abby comes equipped with a great understanding of working with people and helping them succeed, so if you need help or know where something is, just ask Abby. She will direct you to the Staff Member, Instructor, or equipment you require.
Jonathan came to Mpls Photo Center early on as an intern from Arts Institute. After graduation Jonathan was hired as our facilities manager and has worked in many capacities ever since. Jonathan is a professional photographer and will many times be seen assisting members in getting started with lighting, scanning and printing.
Chief of Security
While MPC has a sophisticated alarm system throughout its spaces, Clio, our four-year old Golden Doodle, provides added security by announcing with a bark or two, everyone’s arrival. You’ll hear Clio when you approach the second level. But have no fear, she is well socialized, gentle and sweet dog.
