Mpls Photo Center Staff
The Staff of the Mpls Photo Center is here to serve the needs of our members and the greater photographic community. We welcome the opportunity to arrange tours of the Center's facilities and answer any question you might have about membership, education, talks, lectures and events.
Orin Rutchick
Founder, Director of Membership & Education
Orin is a graduate of Minneapolis College of Art & Design and has 35 years of experience as a photographer, graphic designer and art director. He is a 2006 recipient of the McKnight Photographic Fellowship Award and continues to explore people oriented documentary projects. Orin founded the Mpls Photo Center in September of 2008 with a vision to be the place, for photographers to meet, socialize, learn, grow, create and exhibit.
Abby Rutchick
Co-Founder, Member Relationship & Operations
Abby comes to the Mpls Photo Center with a strong background in business. She works with Center members to ensure that they have a smooth and rewarding experience at the Center. Abby comes equipped with a great understanding of working with people and helping them succeed, so if you need help or know where something is, just ask Abby. She will direct you to the Staff Member, Instructor, or equipment you require.
James Craven
Service Bureau Director & Technology Adviser
Educated in Imaging and Photographic Technology, James serves as the Center's technical advisor, photo-chemist, and photographer. He is the operator of the Center's C-41 film processor, as well as the ScanMaster drum scanner. He welcomes all photographic inquiries, so feel free to find him at the Center and ask about any of your imaging needs or technology needs.
Brad Rolfs
Operations & Special Projects Consultant
Brad has been a fixture at Mpls Photo Center for over two years. He coordinates many of the Center’s electronic business initiatives, and plays a major role in ensuring the Center’s daily operations stay member focused. On occasion he can be found helping teach the studio lightning classes at the Center. Brad is a local award winning freelance photographer whose portrait and editorial work spans both digital and traditional film mediums.
